Never Hire A Locksmith to Rekey Your Home or Rental’s Again.

Rekeying is the practice of changing existing locks to work with a new and different key. Investors with multiple rental properties often do this each time someone leaves an existing property to ensure the old tenants can’t get back in. It is also recommended to rekey your home anytime you change cleaning services, have your keys stolen, or end a relationship.

Until now this has been an expensive task that required the aid of a locksmith.

However, in response to increased lock threats due to techniques being posted on the internet, one company has come out with new lock technology that allows the homeowner to rekey their home locks in just a matter of second. In additional, the new locks are both pick and bump resistant (what is lock bumping).

Imagine now that you have a renter behind in their rent and they are being evicted. You no longer have to call a locksmith to meet you at the property at the time of the eviction. To rekey the locks, all you need is a copy of the current working key and a copy of a different key that you want to rekey the locks to.

The rekeying process itself is very simple. Just insert the old key and a special “key” that came with the lock when you purchased them. Turn the existing key a 1/4 turn. Remove it and insert the new key. Turn the key back 1/4 turn and you are done.

For residential applications, these locks cost no more than standard door hardware, and
can be rekeyed infinitely. They are available at most major home stores.
