One of the major causes for a blocked drain is the throwing away of fat, oils and grease down our sinks and plug holes rather than placing it in the rubbish. Often when we have cooked foods we tip fat, oil and grease straight down the plughole as a hot liquid. As it cools, it solidifies and this then results with it sticking to rough surfaces and catching on twigs, tree roots and other aspect which in turn slowly causes blockages.

In most issues a blocked drain is simply the result of sticks, twigs and tree roots clogging up the drain which in turn damages the plumbing. The best way to clear this issue was simply to dig up the drain and replace existing pipes and drains.

Through ingenuity a new technique has been formed to prevent this issue and that is to line the drain with a new core pipe. The core is manufactured in continuous lengths, eliminating joints and cracks which can lead to root infiltration. The pipe is manufactured from a felt core which is impregnated with a complex polymer resin. The core is then winched or pulled into position and, once set, the resin activates, leaving the new pipe actually stronger than the old!
