Garden Shed Blueprints
Gardens are great. If you are lucky enough to have enough space for a backyard garden, do yourself a favor and build a garden shed. The convenience of having all of your tools safe and right at your fingertips is immeasurable. Good garden shed blueprints and a little ambition is all it takes to build a lovely little home for your precious tools.
The size of the shed depends on the space available in your yard and what you plan to put inside. If you have a large garden, then you need a garden tiller. These can take up quite a bit of space and can be very heavy, so you might want to build a shed with a ramp and a large door. If you also have a riding lawnmower, then you will need a very large shed and definitely a ramp. Dragging one of those over a step can be very difficult, if not impossible. But if you just do a little gardening and space is limited, a little 8 X 8 will do nicely.
When planning your shed, always keep in mind what you plan to do with it. Do you need shelving? Getting things off of the floor saves space, looks much neater, and makes everything much easier to find.
As with any structure, the foundation and the roof are the key components. A solid foundation will keep moisture and pests out and a solid roof will keep out the rain. If you plan to work in your shed, as opposed to just using it for storage, be careful where you put the windows. Direct sunlight on a window can heat a shed up like a greenhouse, making any work terribly uncomfortable.
If you are a gardener, then obviously you are not opposed to a little outdoor work. Building a garden shed is fun and quite affordable. All you need is the right set of garden shed blueprints and you are all set.
